In spite of all their value and virtues, Indian cow breeds are being criminally ignored inside their own native land, owing to a lack of awareness about the massive benefits and craze for hybrid/foreign breeds. Today the Hallikar cow breed has reduced to a dismal 1.2 percent of the total indigenous cattle in Karnataka.
