Tomoto

60

Other Name: red fruit of Solanum lycopersicum

Period/Seasonal Colour: Normal red

Height: 7-15′

Where To Plant: Tomato seeds are almost always started indoors—whether in a greenhouse or a sunny window ledge—and then transplanted to beds once they have at least a few leaves and an established root system

When To Plant: Summer Spring

How To Plant: Thoroughly moisten the seed-starting mix, and then fill the containers to within 1/2″ of the top. Firm the mix but don’t compact it. Place two or three seeds into each small container or each cell of a seed starter.
Cover the seed with about 1/4″ of soil and gently firm it over the seeds. Water to ensure good seed-to-mix contact.

Added Benefits: Not only can they reduce heart disease, but they could potentially prevent and reverse dozens of diseases if eaten daily. This is one fruit you don’t want to leave out of your diet.

Tips: Once they germinate, make sure that the seedlings receive a lot of intense light and keep them warm and constantly moist. Water whenever the soil begins to feel dry.
